Structural Project Engineer

Full-time, W2 | Entry- to mid-level | Hybrid In-office/Remote | Novato, CA

This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Structural Project Design Engineer, located in Novato, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Project Engineer will be responsible for designing and coordinating structural engineering and waterproofing assessment projects. Day-to-day tasks include developing project designs, performing engineering calculations, collaborating with team members, and ensuring projects meet technical and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Assist with structural repair design preparations.
Structural and waterproofing field assessments.
Perform evaluations of existing structures.
Assist with forensic investigations, building envelope diagnostics, and water testing.

Required Qualifications‍
Education: Four-year degree in architecture, engineering, construction management from an accredited university; or a minimum of 6 years of design experience.‍
Expertise in statics and mechanics of materials.‍
Proficient with Windows operating system and MS Office software.‍
Effective communicator in both oral and written forms, including report writing & technical sketches.‍

Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with structural observations, walking construction sites, and onsite evaluation of existing buildings.
Generally knowledge of architectural or structural design preparation, the permitting process, and construction administration.
Familiarity with Bluebeam software and AutoCAD.
Familiarity with a broad range of general structural engineering and physics principles.
Understanding and knowledge of waterproofing systems, structural design concepts, and the design process.
Engineer-in-Training certification.

CA driver's license.
Capable of lifting and carrying 40lbs.
Capable of ascending and descending stairs occasionally; walking scaffolding.
